Yin

Yin Yoga is a style of "cold" yoga. It is not focused on muscular strength and flexibility like other styles of yoga. Instead, yin is helpful for joint flexibility. Unlike most versions of yoga, Yin also has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Classes are often themed around certain meridians, or lines, of the body that connect to different organs. In a typical yin class, expect to hold poses for anywhere from 3-5 minutes per side, and have lots of props available! Blocks, bolsters, blankets, and a cushy and supportive mat will make your time spent in each pose much more comfortable. Yin yoga is great for relaxation and detoxification.
