This class is for those who are interested in developing a Pranayama practice. We will start laying down in Savasana to regulate the breath and to explore the Five Pranavayus—directions that breath can travel in the body. Then, we rise to do some Kapalabhati and Nadi Sodhana, which balances the right/left brain, energy, and hormones. We end with Viloma I, a breath that pauses on inhale to expand one's capacity for breath and Prana (life force energy). If you have trouble with stress, anxiety, or difficulty falling asleep—or, if you simply want to advance your practice of yoga, this practice is perfect for you. You will need some blankets or pillows to sit on. Blow your nose before you begin so that your nasal passages are as clear as possible.
