Demystifying Arm Balances: Bhujapidasana

Join Lillian Jacobs for a 35 minute flow building up to bhujapidasana, arm pressure pose.
Who's ready to balance on their hands? Join Lillian Jacobs for a 35 minute flow building up to bhujapidasana (arm pressure pose), which is one of the arm balances found in the Ashtanga yoga primary series. Warm ups will focus on opening the hips and shoulders, after which you'll have several opportunities to explore lifting up into bujapidasana. Leave your perfectionist ideals at the door! The goal here is to show up and be playful. Whether you're new to arm balances, consider yourself an aficionado, or just want to practice a fun flow—this class has you covered. Please have a blanket (towels work great too!) available for this class.

Lillian Jacobs

Lillian is an E-RYT 200hr, RYT 500hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, certified AcroYoga instructor, and holistic health coach. Lillian has been practicing Yoga since an early age. She has fond memories of sticking her legs up the wall in yoga classes and chanting mantras with her mom as a young child. Lillian continued to practice yoga throughout high school (shout out to MTV Yoga DVD’s for keeping the practice cool enough for teens) and college. Once Lillian graduated from her Masters degree program her first order of business as a grad was to find a yoga teacher training. Lillian completed her 200hr Vinyasa Yoga teacher training with Lynne Beiger and Ame Wren in Boston, MA in January 2012 and has been teaching yoga ever since. A firm believer that a teacher must always remain a student she continued to train with many master teachers in Boston and Los Angeles. In 2013 Lillian became a certified AcroYoga teacher through AcroYoga International and in February 2017 she completed her 500hr teacher training with Mara Healy in Charlotte, NC. In addition to teaching Yoga, Lillian is a holistic health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is currently studying to be an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. When she’s not on the mat, you can find Lillian hiking with her mini-daschund, reading tarot cards, gardening and experimenting with all things Ayurveda in the kitchen.
