Sun Salutations are foundational in the Ashtanga Yoga practice, and this class takes you through Sun Salutation A and B as part of a daily practice to build strength and flexibility. The Ashtanga Yoga Guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois always said the Sun Salutations form a complete practice. If you're new to yoga, this is the perfect place to begin. You won't be overwhelmed by any complicated or overly advanced postures. All students of the Ashtanga Yoga method start their practice with the Sun Salutations. If you are a more advanced student of Ashtanga Yoga but don't have time for your full practice, this video will be a great resource to keep the continuity of your practice flowing.

I woke up feeling stressed and wanted a short practice to bring me back to normal for the day. This started out nicely...beginner level sun salutation (although if you really were a beginner, you wouldn't not get all the cues I think you'd need). When she moved into the Sun Salutation 2 part it started to feel like yoga bootcamp, though. Instruction was sort of yelled out, and there was way too much instruction for me -- the movements were repetitious,so I didn't need the same direction over and over. The stress relief I needed was undermined by the intensity of the instructions. Nice flow otherwise, though. (Posted on 11/2/2016)

Love this little reminder of the fundamentals of sun salutations. Good pace and very helpful for squeezing in a practice when traveling. Makes a daily practice less daunting for new-ish practitioners of ashtanga. THANK YOU KINO! (Posted on 3/31/2014)
