Easy Chair Yoga You Can Practice from Work or Home

One of the (many) amazing things about yoga is that it’s adaptable. Whatever your level, ability, amount of space, or otherwise, as long as you have a body, you can do yoga. Depending on what you’re doing, you don’t even need a mat or fancy equipment – you just need a chair. Chair yoga can be just as beneficial as any other practice and can be a great way to introduce yourself to yoga if you’re a beginner.

Today we’re going to go over some simple chair yoga exercises you can do to stretch, destress, and relieve tension.

Why chair yoga?

Imagine you’ve been sitting at your desk all day. You need a physical break, but don’t have the time or space to get up and do a whole routine. A quick yoga practice from your chair can help provide you with the break you need without having to leave your desk.

Along with being a great way to get in a little exercise from your desk, chair yoga can be extremely beneficial and much more accessible for individuals with disabilities. Especially for those who can’t stand, or lack the mobility to easily transition from a standing to seated or supine position, seated yoga is a gentle way to get active.
