Our glutes power us through athletic endeavors like running, stabilize us in lunges and balancing poses in yoga, and help counterbalance the work of the quads and hip flexors. For many of us, though, our glutes can shut down or become overshadowed by other muscles in the body - this is especially the case when we sit for many hours. When the glutes work less efficiently (or not at all), the result can be tight or pinchy hip flexors, overworked quads, and low back pain. This 40 minute workshop will include a quick anatomical overview, glutes activation assessment, and a spicy practice that focuses on movements from Pilates and yoga that can awaken and strengthen the glutes for a better balanced and pain-free body.
