Practice opening to grace in this first in a series of five classes focusing on the Universal Principles of Alignment. In this mixed level class, you will practice a full spectrum of poses designed to help you attune to the first Principle—opening to grace. This is how we connect and attune to an energy that is bigger than any one part of ourselves or any one individual being. It is that connection to each other and to the energy that is flowing inside of us already. Tap into that in a more powerful way simply by opening to it. You will create space within your body through this carefully sequenced series of postures, which will allow you to be more receptive to opening to grace. Practice several different backbends and hip opening postures to create this space.

Sarah Faircloth

Sarah Faircloth teaches yoga workshops, trainings and retreats, and is honored to serve students and teachers in expanding their practice and understanding of yoga. She was certified in Anusara yoga in 2003 and has taught yoga for over a decade. She taught at Anusara Yoga's First Grand Gathering in 2008 and the Grand Circle at Wanderlust Vermont in 2011. Good class, got me a little sweaty but never horrible. Loved the knowledge I gained as well about the different types of space that are described in Sanskrit. My favorite part though was the alignment cues on back bending, never have I ever felt so comfortable in camel pose or been able to move around like that in bow pose, I am definitely going to have your instructions run though my head when I do it from now on.
