Steph's background as a ballerina and modern dancer came to a crashing halt when she moved overseas after graduating from college and found that adult dance classes were difficult, if not impossible, to find. So she picked up yoga as a way to move her body and never looked back.
Upon returning to the U.S., she entered a 200-hour teacher training with the Rasika Yoga School and started teaching at several local studios. She followed up her 200-hours with a Perinatal Yoga certification. Her favorite styles to teach are slow flow classes and pranayama workshops. Each of her classes incorporates intentional breathwork, both as a separate element and during asana. Since her initial certification, Steph has taken many immersive courses around yogic philosophy. She teaches yoga as a way to connect with others, and to help them find connection with themselves. In 2020 she began Tidepool Yoga, a business that seeks to build micro-communities of people connecting with themselves and others through the practice of yoga.
