Sage Rountree, PhD, E-RYT500 is a pioneer in yoga for athletes and an endurance sports coach. Sage's most recent books are Racing Wisely, Everyday Yoga, and Lifelong Yoga. Sage's classes, training plans, books, and articles make yoga, core strength, and endurance exercise accessible to everyone. Her goal is to help people find the right balance between work and rest for peak performance in sports and in life. As co-owner of the Carolina Yoga Company and director of its yoga teacher trainings, she's especially interested in sequencing and clear languaging. 200 hr Carolina Yoga Company Teacher Training

Whether you aspire to teach or merely want to learn more about yoga, the Carolina Yoga teacher training is for you. Carolina Yoga is the yoga school comprised of Carrboro Yoga, Durham Yoga, and Hillsborough Yoga in central North Carolina. Just as our studios are responsibly eclectic, covering a wide range of styles and approaches to yoga, our teacher training program is both broad and deep. The program will expose you to the major styles of yoga as practiced in modern America, while giving you a thorough grounding in yoga philosophy as practiced through the ages. Along the way, we will have fun together exploring dance, music, meditation, breathing practices, chanting, and more. At the end of the program, you’ll have a new and full understanding of yoga’s role in your life, as well as the skills to teach and to explore the approaches that resonate best for you. This is only the beginning to your deeper connection with yoga, yourself, and your community!

Yoga for Athletes 5 Day Teachers' Intensive at Carolina Yoga Center

This five-day intensive on yoga for sports training is designed for yoga teachers interested in working with athletes of all sports; it will also be useful for coaches, PE teachers, and personal trainers. Participants will gain a new awareness of the parallels between yoga and sports training and will leave feeling empowered to teach yoga to athletes in studio, gym, team, or one-on-one settings. The workshop may also be used for CEUs and CECs, including Yoga Alliance contact hours and five USAT CEU credits; contact Sage for details.
