Style: Slow Flow
Length: 40 mins.
Difficulty: Level 1

This Focused Flow aims to reduce the out of balance symptoms of Vata. Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, characterizes people into three categories of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You can be a combination of these tendencies or under the influence of just one. When out of balance, Vatas can be scattered, overwhelmed, anxious, dry, and suffer from joint pain. This practice helps ground and stabilize anxiety with mudra (hand gestures) and pranayama (breath work), while offering a variation on our traditional flow to build strength without extra pressure on the joints. Have a blanket and block available.

Good Intent But a Little Hard to Follow Review by Aubrey
I think live this class would have been great, but it was hard to follow as she used a half-mandala sequence (turned the back to the screen for part of the class). The cueing could have been a bit more direct. Overall though, I felt relaxed and grounded after (Posted on 3/19/2020)

I love the fact that there is this diverse option to practice. I was definitely feeling scattered and my joints were hurting but this class really helped me. Thank you! (Posted on 8/8/2015)

A soothing practice. I felt much calmer and focused afterward, even with these very simple, gentle asanas. I agree with my fellow reviewer though that I had to watch the screen more than usual in order to follow the instructor; now that I've done it once through, I'm sure that won't be as much an issue in the future. Relaxing flow, but I found this teacher a bit difficult to follow without watching the screen very closely. (Posted on 9/28/2014)
