This series of basic poses is designed to release stored energy in the body after a long day, especially if you need to calm the mind before bedtime. This mellow practice is good even if you've already practiced today, particularly if you are sore. It's the yogi's "night cap."

By allowing our breath to bring awareness into our bodies and into our practices within the movement, within the breath, within the stillness we allow our practice to reflect the personal challenges we may have along our path of development and healing. It may be an uncomfortable ride from time to time, but there is no growth in comfort, and Sean doesn't step onto his mat to be comfortable.

This is a great short hip opening, stretching class -- but he's way too chatty for me for bedtime, and some of the poses were also more active than I'd like to be when I'm trying to really wind my body down. I'd do this first thing in the morning when I'm too tired to really work, but need to get my body going a bit. (Posted on 5/23/2019)

This was my first practice with Sean and it was a good experience. I'm on a climbing road trip and spent the morning working a service project that involved hauling rocks uphill and then placing them. In the afternoon, I took a nice sunset run through desert sage on a dirt road. So I wanted to practice in the evening and was really ready for something low key and down-winding. I found this class to be a perfect practice for just that. While this is a level one class, some prior familiarity with the asanas Sean uses would be helpful. Overall, I'm all chill now! While I enjoyed the sequence of poses in this class, I feel that a 'warm up' was really needed for any hip opening poses such as these. Since there was not really a transition into the routine, I was uncomfortable/tight in the poses, and found it difficult to get "out of my head" and relax. (Posted on 2/1/2014)
