Hala Khouri, M.A., SEP, E-RYT has been teaching yoga and the movement arts for over 20 years. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she is also currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with a specialization in Community, Liberation, & Ecopsychology. This continues to be my all-time go-to Yogavibes class. Hala's style is incredibly down-to-earth and her teaching is smart, balanced, and accessible to all levels. It is an incredibly safe and well-structured class, especially if you experience any structural (or mental-emotional) imbalance. From poses on the floor to gently warm up, moving through flows, and then back down to the floor, she incorporates all the elements of a great class, intro, arc/pinnacle, and cool-down seamlessly. Her knowledge of yoga postures is fluidly woven into this class. Check out her other classes, which have the same candid feel, but don't have the longer section of talking; that's pretty isolated to this video, which is another element that makes it all the more real and enjoyable in my opinion. It's like I'm there in the room. Clearly, the class isn't at all staged. Hala is just that good and just that real. I have honestly never met another teacher who understands structural alignment and fluidity; stability and flexibility; strength and length, as well as her, and who can integrate it into an hour that leaves me feeling completely balanced, renewed, and restored. Nice class to relax after a long day. Solid level 2 technique and Hala has a nice voice and manner. One suggestion for instructor: if you know you're filming a class, consider holding back on the personal chit chat and philosophy statements that are meaningless to the remote student.
