Wade Mortenson

Wade Mortenson has been practicing Ashtanga yoga since 2004. He enjoys sharing this ancient practice with anyone eager to learn. His Ashtanga teachers include Tim Miller and Jorgen Christiansson. He is the former Co-Owner of Maya Yoga in Kansas City and now lives in Encinitas, CA with wife, Kathleen Kastner. Wade is a devotee of Paramahansa Yogananda and attends Self-Realization Fellowship.

The instructor makes this challenging class light-hearted and fun. He provides good cues and sequencing, plus lots of modifications to make poses easier or harder. Salutations and standing poses at a quick pace definitely will work up a sweat, but the class is certainly accessible to intermediate practitioners who want to challenge themselves. An extended shivasana rounds out a great practice. I've gone back to this class multiple times, and I wish that there were more videos available from this instructor! (Posted on 12/1/2014)
