The Anahata Chakra is located in the upper chest region; we shall imagine it behind the sternum and in the center of the upper torso. The name means "Unstruck," suggesting that there is a place in our hearts that has never been hurt with harm or fear. Its quality is air, which suggests the concept of our hearts being as light as air. This online yoga class will move you through a warm-up sequence similar to all flow classes, except that heat will come from how you breathe as well as the poses. Backbends will be coupled with Mantra and specific breathing techniques to bring a sense of lightness and expansiveness around the heart.

I did the practice as well as the 4th chakra meditation. Early in the practice I noticed feeling dizzy and nauseous when retaining the breath in the upper 3rd of lungs. It continued even while seated for the meditation. It's been an hour or more and I still feel this way. I do not get nauseous often at all. Any thoughts? Hesitate to post here but would love some feedback. Thanks! (Posted on 7/12/2015)

A beautiful class with Jeanne's classic voice: calming, instructing, cajoling, laughing, striving... all at the same time! As she notes, this practice is a deceptively simple. Externally it may appear basic, but listen carefully and your guide will take you on a journey to a complex and rich inner world. (Posted on 5/26/2013)
