This practice begins by moving through a flow practice to heat the muscles and joints. Then, we will go slowly, gradually and deeply, into the hips and adjoining muscles. You will hear some repeated information about the Muladhara Chakra and then be introduced to the Swadhisthana Chakra, located in the center of the pelvic bowl, including the sexual organs. After getting our base needs addressed (food, clothing, shelter and health), we begin to desire expansion to new tastes, people, and experiences. This class will address both the stability and the movement and help heal both regions through longer holds and visualizations.

jeanne is great and I love her take on the chakras and also bringing humor into the class. Ive thought back several times to some great physical cueing she gives. This class will warm your body up but its not a 'great workout' I would add your own balancing series and maybe heart opener if youre looking for a ell rounded thang... she has spine strengtheners, hips, sun salutations and triangle there (Posted on 11/3/2012)

Jeanne is such a wonderful, spirited, and, passionate teacher... with a good sense of humor! I've probably taken over 100 classes with her in person (including variations on this particular one) and I always learn something new or gain a new perspective of an old, familiar area. Her classes are challenging but still accessible. You definitely want to have a solid practice foundation for this class only because Jeanne cannot personally adjust and tweak you! But don't be shy, as someone else has noted, she provides excellent step by step instructions to work you through this really cool practice.

Note that you should have a wall ready to move to for the end of the class! I wasn't quite prepared and ended up again some sliding glass doors... in the end that was ok, since a student in the video was in the same situation!

Jeanne often says that "there's a method to my madness!" Trust me (and her!), there is and you won't be disappointed! (Posted on 10/16/2012)

Jeanne is an amazing teacher, I have attended her classes at center for yoga in LA for a few years and it is so great to have her here online, I can do the classes where ever I am which is wonderful. It feels as if I am in class at CFY which really helps keep me motivated, feeling part of the group. The class is challenging but worthwhile. I felt amazing afterwards. Yay Jeanne! Jeanne is the best! Review by Julie Greines
I have been going to Jeanne's in-person classes for years, and have always been a little hesitant when it comes to yoga videos. This hip opener class with Jeanne really changed that for me. I felt like I was in class with her! Her directions and instructions were really clear and her humor shone through the video. I am training for a marathon and this hour long hip opener class is a perfect weekly adjunct to my training program as it deeply stretches tight places that I wouldn't stretch on my own. I plan on subscribing to her core class soon and I can only hope that Jeanne does more classes through yogavibes over the next little while! (Posted on 10/17/2011)
Amazing!!!! Review by Sandra Schueler
Jeannes teaching, Jeannes instructions are so thorough and detailed that a pose just feels completely different and my body feels completely different afterwards. She is funny in between and then again she really drives me hard in this practice, so that I get to experience my boundaries:-) I would say that this class works for both beginners and more advanced students - for beginners it is great because of the very detailed information on how to get into poses, what to work on when you are in it.
