Everything vibrates, either on a slow, dull level or a faster, lighter frequency. The vibration of our speech comes from the vibrations of our respiratory system, which are a result of vibrations from our thoughts. If we can begin to control the vibrations in our mind, it can eventually ripple outward past our speech and into our actions and our life. We return to the mantra "So Hum," which translates to, "I am That." The "That" refers to the Divine spark inside each of us. We are aligning ourselves to that sacred spark—and less so to our outer form, bank account, or accomplishments, all of which constantly change.

Jeanne Heileman was first introduced to the practice in 1985. It's all good: practice Jeanne's Finding Your Inner Voice: Mantra and the Fifth Chakra Vinyasa Yoga class, this Mantra for Meditation class, or both together. I'm so calm and present that usually loquacious and mind-going-a-million-miles-a-minute me can't think of much to say! I will take that as an excellent testimony to the good effects of this meditation practice! (Posted on 7/14/2013)
