Yoga Class Description

The bottom line routine melts inches off your glutes, lifts your butt and lengthens and tones your legs, ending with a restorative cool down. In this online yoga with weights class with Xen Strength Yoga founder Danielle Diamond you will get the intense calorie burn you want without sacrificing precise alignment and the benefits of yoga that you love. You will be encouraged and inspired to work toward your edge and to challenge yourself while still honoring your current skill level. Xen Strength Yoga classes strategically incorporate light weights into a playful Vinyasa flow, for a program designed to sculpt, lengthen, and challenge every muscle group. Have a pair of light (3-5 pound) hand weights available. Do this as a stand-alone practice or combine with Segments 1 and 2 for a full hour-long practice. (28 mins.)

First Xen Yoga class I have tried. I usually do the Core Fusion classes on Yoga Vibes but felt like something shorter and a change this evening. This class was really refreshing, I loved the instructor, she is so real and normal and has a really easy to understand way of describing how to correctly align in a posture. Looking forward to doing more of these classes now that I have found them. Did not find the class as challenging as a Core Fusion class, but this was only one segment of the full hour long class and I could not even do some of the harder parts (the standing up from boat pose to chair without using your hands - she made that look so easy but I could not even stand up).

I agree with jeanne k and second all she said. I feel so excited yet grounded about this flow, so I know it's a good thing *** as opposed to being starry-eyed and over-excited. In fact, I have memorized a few shortie workout routines such as Cindy Crawford's 10 minute workout (back in the DAY! 1990's) but this is definitely the new one to memorize and practice when a 1/2 hour is what I have, esp. while travelling. I really enjoyed the teacher: clear, happy, encouraging, zen, and fit. Yay!

Danielle Diamond

For over fifteen years, Danielle Diamond has been teaching a kick-butt yoga class that focuses on alignment and breath to open your body through a creative sequence, designed to make you smile as much as you'll sweat. After stumbling upon yoga while producing a fitness video for MTV and dealing with over-use injuries from being a hard-core runner, Danielle realized the important effect learning to meditate had on her mental health. It allowed her to find peace inside herself and to face her biggest challenges head on: her mother's suicide, her father's bankruptcy, and her own body issues.

More and more, Danielle noticed her students would lift weights after doing yoga. This inspired her to develop Xen Strength Yoga and create a modern twist on yoga that truly meets her client's needs. Her program combines a vinyasa flow with light hand weights, and will be featured in the book she is currently writing about yoga and the Zone Diet with Dr. Barry Sears of The Zone Diet fame. Additionally, Danielle is honored to have recently been featured in Bobbi Brown's Pretty Powerful campaign and upcoming book, as well as being the featured wellness blogger on Bobbi's blog: www.everythingbobbi.com.
