Yoga Class Description

In this online yoga with weights class with Danielle Diamond, you will be encouraged to work toward your edge and challenge yourself, while still honoring precise alignment and your current skill level. Danielle incorporates light weights into a playful Vinyasa flow and in this online yoga class, you will experience a cardio challenge to sculpt, lengthen, and work every muscle group while burning lots of calories! Have a pair of light weights (3-5 pounds) available. (41 mins.)

Good workout but didn't really feel like a yoga class. I think if the yoga flow was longer it would have felt more like yoga.

Wow! Quick + sweaty with a good cool-down stretch... that's how I would describe this one. My only wish is that it would be a bit longer in order to (possibly?) incorporate a slightly longer warm-up with the vinyasa flows and then some more with the weights - maybe extend the main sequence or add a shorter one that specifically gets at the triceps/biceps? Still, I liked this!


Danielle Diamond

For over fifteen years, Danielle Diamond has been teaching a kick-butt yoga class that focuses on alignment and breath to open your body through a creative sequence, designed to make you smile as much as you'll sweat. After stumbling upon yoga while producing a fitness video for MTV and dealing with over-use injuries from being a hard-core runner, Danielle realized the important effect learning to meditate had on her mental health. It allowed her to find peace inside herself and to face her biggest challenges head on: her mother's suicide, her father's bankruptcy, and her own body issues.

More and more, Danielle noticed her students would lift weights after doing yoga. This inspired her to develop Xen Strength Yoga and create a modern twist on yoga that truly meets her client's needs. Her program combines a vinyasa flow with light hand weights, and will be featured in the book she is currently writing about yoga and the Zone Diet with Dr. Barry Sears of The Zone Diet fame. Additionally, Danielle is honored to have recently been featured in Bobbi Brown's Pretty Powerful campaign and upcoming book, as well as being the featured wellness blogger on Bobbi's blog: www.everythingbobbi.com.
