Yoga Class Description

Start sitting with an upright spine and an open heart. Practice coming into the moment, letting go of wanting and not wanting, and being with the rise and fall of your breath in this challenging vinyasa flow yoga class with Rolf Gates. Practice how you want to be in life on your yoga mat. Start with hip openers to get warmed up and then flow through a standing sequence that will have you moving around your mat. Includes a side angle and triangle flow, Warrior II and Warrior III, and dancer's pose. Finish with several backbends and reclining poses to stretch out the body and get you ready for a well-deserved savasana. Have two blocks and a strap available. (93 mins.)

As someone who typically goes for crazy sweaty vinyasa flows... I found THIS class to be a refreshing dive into into the more meditative aspect of yoga that, together with strength, makes a complete practice. The class moves slowly but consistently, and really empowers your mind and breath to take the reins over your body. Though it may not initially feel as intense as a power class, I suddenly found myself holding dancer pose and eagle with greater stability! A must-try for a day when you have more extra time.
