Focus on the lower body, dropping the tail bone down and in, hollowing out and engaging the core, and rooting from the core all the way down through the feet, in this online yoga class with Rolf Gates. Start by taking your seat, relaxing your body, and remembering your own wisdom and stillness. Bring attention and appreciation to your feet and work the inner rotation of the thighs as you warm up with Sun Salutation variations and a flow that includes triangle pose, side angle pose, Warrior III, eagle and dancer's pose. There is an opportunity to work up to a side plank variation before cooling down with backbends and reclining and seated poses. Practice balancing determination and conviction with letting go of stories, the past, and the future, and move from thinking to feeling by following the breath. We have a habit of disconnecting from the truth - what the truth is here and now, and clinging to what was or will be.
