Challenge yourself in this advanced online yoga class with Cristi Christensen. Start slowly with a restorative heart and hip opener, then begin to build heat with a core plank series and a standing flow including Sun Salutation variations. Progress through a series of quadricep/thigh openers to prepare for advanced backbends, including salabhasana, dhanurasana and natarajasana. Practice a standing balance sequence including Warrior III, standing splits and kundalini's descent. End with seated hip openers with an opportunity to practice the arm balance astavakrasana. Cristi Christensen, Director of Exhale Center for Sacred Movement in Venice, California, adventurer, and free spirit, takes her inspiring yoga teachings and positive vibes to every corner of the earth. Her background as a former elite-level gymnast and platform diver, combined with her degree in Kinesiology, eventually led her to yoga. After suffering an injury, her Olympian path was put to an end. Resilient and determined, Cristi re-focused her efforts, deciding to inspire others to improve their health and wellness through personal training, Pilates, Core Fusion and yoga.
