Our time on the mat can help us release the effects of stress from our bodies, hearts and minds. We can clear space, physically and emotionally, through a mindful practice so that we can rest in the calm center of our hearts more of the time. This online yoga class focuses on clear alignment of the lower body, especially inner spiral of the legs, as a way to help clear stress. We start with a strong standing pose sequence, play with preparations for the arm balance Koundinyasana II, and wrap up with some backbending and hip opening. You may want to have a block nearby. After many years of studying dance and capoeira, Olynda came to yoga and fell in love! She is currently an Anusara Yoga certified teacher, with 9 years of yoga teaching experience. Olynda has over 750 hours of teacher training. She completed her Teacher Trainings and Therapeutic Yoga trainings with John Friend. After years of living in New York City and Maui, Olynda has happily settled in Durham, North Carolina.
