Yinyasa - The Fusion of Yin and Vinyasa Flow

Yoga Class Description

By fusing Yin yoga with Vinyasa flow, Coffin has created an integrated, balanced online yoga practice. The first 30 minutes of Yin work help release the connective tissues, create space and integrity in the joints and remove blockages to internal energy flow. Focusing on the hips, pelvis, lower back and knees, the Yin postures keep the core supple. The hour-long Yang section is a flowing repetition of movements requiring strength and balance, while emphasizing breath work and internal locks. The heat and internal awareness generated in the Yang portion build on the releases cultivated during the Yin series. (95 mins.)

Invigorating and detoxifying class. Jennifer includes pranayama, inversions, and leg and core work. Highly recommended for a day you are feeling sluggish and need a pick me up.

Loved the yin and pranayama before the vinyasa. The vinyasa is also great, including leg and core work, and inversions. Highly recommend Jennifer's class, especially on those days you are feeling a little sluggish.

Loved this. Great instruction and some interesting breathwork. Thank you.

I was frequently confused by the cues. Class felt very choppy as a result. She speeds up her instruction during intense moments when instruction is crucial. I had to stop several times and go back to see what the students in the class were doing. I was somewhat relieved to see that they appeared to be confused too. Also, this is not a crazy sweaty flow. There is very little flow at all.

Love it. Great class for days when energy is low or you need something different to inspire your yoga practice. Unique postures and sequencing.

This class had an amazing and surprisingly restorative effect on chronic tightness in my upper back and neck -- wow, wasn't expecting that relief! It is also a very uniquely constructed class, a hybrid of a few opening yin poses followed by a Forrest-inspired mix of breath work, core work and fundamental strength work . . . all returning to a quiet shavasana. Really lovely, really helpful.

Sally Smith

This is one of the best yoga sequences I have ever experienced. The release of the yin, the fantastic breath work, and the vigor of the vinyasa flow make this a deeply invigorating practice.

Tiffany Cantrell

This class is just right for a tight day that more slow movement is needed before diving into a vinyasa class. It begins with slow yin poses and then moves directly into a great vinyasa based class with inversions, etc. I would suggest you have a block ready for this class as you will need it and a bolster isn't a bad idea either. You will love it!
