I like the class as beginner to Ashtanga yoga with great explanations.

Ashtanga = okay for any level. However, if you are new to ashtanga I might start elsewhere. He doesn't offer modifications for the poses. As someone who has been doing ashtanga for awhile, it was okay.

Great class. Enjoyed the explanations.

I didn't like this class at all. I am a daily practicioner, and I thought the class was unclear and the flow was not for my liking. I stopped in the middle and began at the same place in Kino's class.

Abby B

definitely NOT for beginners

Great class, great instructor. Moves at a fair pace, so you should have some basic knowledge of the poses before trying this class. While the intro about proper breathing technique at the beginning is very helpful, I don't think you need to listen to it every time you practice. So if you need to keep your practice under an hour, the class begins at 6:10.

Love this class and love the instructor!! He is great. So happy to have found this since moving to the suburbs and leaving behind my beloved yoga studio in the city. This is the real deal.

Mike Gannon is a great teacher. His (& his guru's) approach to Ashtanga yoga is a mind opener for me. The routine is very good for an advanced beginner like myself to learn the meanings of each pose, and make them right. hope Mike will pose more videos on how to practice for the more advanced poses in his demo.

This is a great class for anyone beginning an ashtanga practice. It is only about an hour long and runs through many poses of the primary series. You should probably try one or two ashtanga classes before attempting this practice due to ashtanga's quick pace. It would be helpful to have 2 blocks for jump backs and jump throughs as well. Most advanced poses are probably wheel and full and half lotus.

Michael Gannon

Michael Gannon spends each year on the road: teaching workshops, trainings and retreats in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. After studying Ashtanga in India with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in 2001 Gannon was authorized to teach by Jois and has imparted his own unique teaching style of the original Vinyasa system to more than 150 teachers worldwide. Gannon has created an instructional breathing CD, “Awaken Your Life Force and Quiet Your Mind;” a DVD, “From Earth to Heaven;” and three yoga practice posters. His first book is due out this year.
