A moderately paced postnatal yoga sequence with a focus on back strengthening and chest openers for moms who are breast feeding, general toning with a focus on building strength in the pelvic floor and abdominals with safe exercises, even for those with diastasis rectii. Ends with restorative poses to help moms who may not be getting enough sleep. Recommended for 6-8 weeks postpartum, safe for vaginal or c-section births. Neelu Shruti is a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher and double based in New York City. Neelu was fortunate to be introduce to yoga at a young age while attending Rishi Valley, a boarding school in India founded by the philosopher, J. Krishnamurti, and has continued to deepen her own practice since moving to New York. She is passionate about supporting pregnant women through a conscious, nurturing and strengthening yoga practice. She believes in empowering women with information about their choices and giving them the tools to develop trust in their own bodies. She teaches weekly classes at Yoga Vida in Manhattan as well as monthly workshops at Carriage House Birth in Brooklyn. Neelu completed her yoga teacher training at Yoga Vida and the Prenatal Yoga Center, and her doula training with DONA International.
