Yoga Class Description

In this 35 minute online yoga sequence, Peter presents exercises that help you build the abdominal core strength in preparation for practicing arm balances, and then presents opportunities to practice a number of advanced arm balances. (34 mins.)

fun poses in a relaxed, but arduous, routine. I don't have the arm/core strength yet to do them but hopefully one day!

This is a great little arm-balance tutorial. If you are at the point where you want to start adding in a little extra flare to your routine or regular class, this video has wonderful sequences! I'm a girl with relatively low upper-body strength and yet I found I could do most of these when I tried = :-)

Peter Barnett

Peter Barnett was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, an unofficial wonder of the world that holds Mother Nature captive with its beauty. This is the place where Peter was lucky enough to be raised and trained, not in yoga, but in humanity. When Peter teaches, he combines fun and lightheartedness with thoughtful consideration of the body, mind and spirit. He is inspired by the wisdom of variety of teachers and their styles: Power, Kundalini, Iyengar and Anusara. Using this knowledge, he creates a unique and exciting environment in his classes. Peter's experience has lead him to a place where he is constantly reminded that there is always more to learn. Peter extends a thousand thank-you's to his amazing teachers: Bryan Kest, for lighting the flame and reminding him why we do yoga; Steven Earth, for encouraging him to teach and making sure he did; Shiva Rea, for inspiring him through her strength and teaching him about The Dance; and John Friend, for showing him how it all goes together. Peter also thanks his dad, Harold, whose early morning fitness regiment of deep breathing, stretching, and swimming always amazed him.
