Originally from northern California, Heather Lilleston has been living and teaching yoga in New York City since 2003. She completed the Jivamukti teacher training with Sharon Gannon and David Life while finishing her BA at New York University, and completed her 800-hour advanced certification in 2008. She continued her training in 2010, exploring a more Iyengar based approach with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee at The Yoga Shanti 300-hour teacher training, which she now assists as a mentor. Heather has trained and mentored numerous new teachers at Pure Yoga and The Shala and has been a contributing member of their respective Teacher Training Programs. She currently teaches at Yoga Vida where she is the Yoga Director, as well as Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor and NYC, and Love Yoga in Montauk. She is the Co-Founder of Yoga For Bad People, a company focused on leading retreats worldwide. Her yoga classes integrate creative Vinyasa sequences with meditation, chanting, and spiritual philosophy. She is known for her sweetness, passion, and authenticity.
