Brand New Beginner - Class #1

This is the first of six classes in our Brand-New Beginner Series, which teaches fundamental yoga principles to quickly improve posture, alleviate pain and focus the mind. In this online yoga class, you'll begin learning the Stationary Sequence, a series of postures that strengthens and lengthens the body while relaxing and energizing the mind. Instructor Johnny Gillespie also discusses the structure of the human body and proper postural alignment. Note: Learn how to practice yoga step by step in our six-part Brand-New Beginner Series. Taught by Empowered Yoga founder Johnny Gillespie, the BNB Series includes foundational principles and postures with frequent review and modifications, making it accessible to all students. Before beginning the first class, please watch the free vignettes entitled "Introduction to Brand New Beginner Series" and "Setting Up Your Yoga Space." After the sixth class in the series, students will be prepared to move on to Empowered Yoga's Stationary Sequence class with Johnny Gillespie. (63 mins.)

I am not new to yoga, just inconsistent. So I took this beginner's class to see what I might have missed the first 20 or so times I started and stopped. The class explained everything in detail, and I found the varying levels of students helpful to me at 47. Though it got a little slow at points, I got a decent work out from it, but more importantly, a solid foundation of some of the most basic yoga moves. Looking forward to Class #2!
