Home-Simply Yoga

Gary and Melissa Margolin are the founders and owners of Home-Simply Yoga in Santa Monica, California.  Gary Margolin moved from New York to Los Angeles in 2002 to study full-time with Chuck Miller and Maty Ezraty.  After completing their teacher training, he and his wife, Melissa Margolin, founded Home-Simply Yoga - an environmentally friendly community center and resource for Ashtanga students.  In addition to teaching and operating a studio, Gary Margolin draws on his experience as a corporate finance attorney and media and entertainment senior executive as a personal consciousness development consultant to businesses large and small.  He writes and speaks on business and organizational development, aging, yoga and addiction recovery.  Melissa Margolin began practicing yoga at 10 with her mother, the model and businesswoman, Wilhelmina.  The yoga practices in her mother's 1978 book, The new you:  How to maximize your total appearance, are some of Melissa's best memories of her mother who died a few years later.  Yoga helped her through difficult periods in her life, including mental and physical damage from an alcoholic, abusive father.  She decided to become a yoga teacher after practicing with Pattabhi Jois in New York City in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.  The Margolins later opened Home-Simply Yoga, where Melissa teaches Mysore-style classes.
